About me

Hi, I’m Amanda.

I grew up in Brunswick, Maine, and now live in Andover with my husband, our two daughters, and our dog.

After 15 years working in special education, I stepped away from the classroom to focus on raising my girls. But so much of what I learned during those years still shapes the way I think about homes today. I learned that our environments matter, that different people need different things from their spaces, and that there’s rarely a one-size-fits-all solution.

That perspective is especially important when I’m designing for neurodiverse kids and families. Thoughtful design can make everyday life easier while still creating a home that feels beautiful, personal, and completely your own.

Olive & Jane Interiors grew from that perspective and my lifelong love of decorating, rearranging rooms, and finding really great old things.

I believe the best homes aren’t the ones where everything is perfectly coordinated or looks like it came from the same catalog. They’re warm, welcoming, a little unexpected, and filled with things that mean something to the people who live there.

So that’s where I start: with how you actually live, what you already own and love, and how you want your home to feel. From there, I mix old and new, color and pattern, vintage treasures and fresh finds, with a little whimsy thrown in when it feels right.

And I really love the hunt. The perfect vintage piece, an unexpected Facebook Marketplace find, or the thing we didn’t even know we were looking for until we saw it are often what make a room feel special.

The goal is a home that works for your family, tells your story, and feels entirely your own.

I’d love to hear about your space!
